What is the seal of the Holy Spirit?

Dearly beloved, the seal of the Holy Spirit is an important subject matter, for which am privileged to share with you. It is a blessing to be sealed by the Holy Spirit, hence, it necessitates that we gain an in-depth understanding from the Holy scriptures concerning it.

The seal of the Holy Spirit means what?

Apostle Paul wrote this by the Spirit: In Him, you also, after listening to the message of truth, the gospel of your salvation-having also believed, you were sealed in Him with the Holy Spirit of promise, who is given as a pledge of our inheritance, with a view to the redemption of God's own possession, to the praise of His glory (Ephesians 1:13-14). We are said to be sealed by the Holy Spirit and this sealing is a pledge or a deposit which guarantees our inheritance. God in his wisdom sealed us with the Holy Spirit, to assure us of the possession of our full inheritance, which is imperishable and undefiled and will not fade away, reserved in heaven for us.

To be sealed by the Holy Spirit also conveys the truth that we are God's very own children. To be sealed signifies ownership. We are the very children of God whom he has sealed with his Spirit. Anyone destitute of the Holy Spirit cannot be reckoned as part of God's children, see (Romans 8; 9). The Greek word for "sealed" is "Sphragizo" and it means " to stamp with a signet or a private mark". God in his grace has marked us as his children forever. It is a blessing for you, and I to be marked as God's own children through saving faith in our Lord Jesus Christ (Galatians 3; 26).

The seal of the Holy Spirit also bespeaks of the eternal security of his people. In the book of Ephesians, it is written: Do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption (Ephesians 4; 30). We're exhorted as Christians not to grieve the holy Spirit, for through him, we are sealed unto the day of redemption of our bodies. This denotes the security of our salvation, for we are sealed and this seal will endure for the day of redemption. How can we be sealed for the day of redemption if we can lose the sealing of the Holy Spirit? It is impossible

Scripturally, to be sealed with the person of the Holy Spirit denotes, assurance of the possession of our inheritance preserved in heaven for us, it also signifies ownership, meaning we are God's children, and finally, it means we are safe and eternally secure in God's love for us. God bless you
