What does John 1; 14 mean?

In fact many people out there have a poor understanding of what it truly means that the word became flesh. But in this short article, I will explain what it truly means that the Word described in the book of John was made flesh and dwelt among us. In the book of John, it is written: And the Word became flesh, and dwelt among us, and we saw His glory, glory as of the only begotten from the Father, full of grace and truth-- John 1; 14 The Greek word for "Word" in this text is "Logos"and it means, "reason, thought, message, speech, Word". Let us examine the passage itself from verse 1 to gain a deeper understanding of the mind of the author John 1: 1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God The Greek word for, "Word" in this verse is "Logos". The Word was there with God, and the Word according to the apostle was God himself. So we can see that the Word and God are distinct, yet have equal divine essenc...

Is it wrong to repeatedly pray for the same thing?

This is an interesting question and I thank God for the privilege to give you an answer. The bible is the standard for our faith and practice, so we have no other option than to search what the inspired word of God has to say concerning this all important subject matter. I beseech you by the mercies of God to carefully read through this article for your spiritual edification It is scriptural   Praying for the same thing over and over is not wrong, in fact it is scriptural. Jesus gave an illustration respecting the unjust judge and the widow who demanded for justice and he stressed on the relevance of persistent prayer. The widow was persistent in her request, to the extent that the unjust judge said this: For a while he was unwilling; but afterward he said to himself, 'Even though I do not fear God nor respect man, yet because this widow bothers me, I will give her legal protection, otherwise by continually coming she will wear me out.'" And the Lord said, "Hear what ...

Is there a sin God will not forgive?

Many people think they have committed an unpardonable sin, a sin which God cannot forgive them for. But the question is, is it scriptural for a believer in Christ Jesus to commit an unforgivable sin? And besides, is there a sin God cannot forgive? List of certain sins Some people are of the view that there are certain sins which God cannot forgive. Some of them include murder, a lying tongue, unforgiveness, pride and more. All these and more are sins that cannot be classified as an unpardonable sins. I will not encourage anyone to engage him or herself in such acts, but, nonetheless, they are sins which God can forgive. God's grace and love far surpasses our sins, for where sin abounds, God's grace super abounds and overflows. These sins are impotent in themselves to exhaust the wonderful grace and mercy of God. All our sins are forgiven in Christ Jesus  We have not yet attained to the level of sinless perfection, but deep down our heart we desire not to sin, but since we are l...

Can the Holy Spirit leave a believer?

There are differing views about this question, as to whether the holy Spirit can leave a believer in Christ or not. Some people are of the opinion that the Holy Spirit left certain old testament figures and can still leave a Christian today. The people from the other camp also says that the indwelling presence of the Holy Spirit in a Christian is permanent. These are two contradictory viewpoints which cannot be reconciled. One view is consistent with the scriptures, whiles the other is in antithesis to the truth of the gospel. For this cause, I will labor in the word in order for the truth of God's word to be established. The Holy Spirit dwelt temporarily in the Old testament saints Prior to the incarnation of the Son of God, the Holy Spirit came upon certain individuals and departed from them at will. A typical example, was Saul who was the first king among the children of Israel. Upon his disobedience to the instructions of God, God rejected him and his Spirit departed from him: ...

Is it unloving to tell a fellow brother to stop a bad habit?

This is an important and a sensitive question which must be addressed with care. I will employ all my powers and by the help of the divine Spirit, provide you with an answer which is in concordance with the holy scriptures. It is not unloving, but loving  We are living in a time that certain people considers it unloving to point out their sin(s) and to speak against it. Assuming a friend of yours is addicted to drugs and alcohol, and you reach out to him, and speak in love for him or her to stop, and you explain the consequences of his actions, and offer to help. Can we say you are being unloving? Certainly not, it is rather an act of love to point out a destructive habit of a brother and offer help, than to ignore him to his fate.  Do not condemn the person  But it will be unloving on our part to speak against a person's bad habits, and condemn the person at the same time. When you make a person feel worse in his or her state, it means you are not being loving, rather un...

Is following Jesus difficult?

Any Christian who will say it is easy to follow Jesus is not following him in truth. To follow after Jesus is very hard, it is not an easy task. To be a Christian is not just to enjoy the benefits of the redemptive work of Christ credited into your account. Following after Jesus wholeheartedly will cost you everything, it can even cost you your very life for his name sake. It is not an easy thing to be a Christian, to be a follower of the way, and yet there is no greater joy in serving and following Jesus. Why is following Jesus difficult? Following after Jesus Christ is difficult, because it involves self denial Jesus stated emphatically: Then Jesus said to His disciples, "If anyone wishes to come after Me, he must deny himself, and take up his cross and follow Me (Matthew 16; 24). He is saying that we must lay aside our own will, and we must seek to do his will. For example, his will for us is this: But I say to you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you (Matth...

Why did Jesus tell the young rich man he could be saved by keeping the commandments?

Beloved in Christ, the interlocution between our blessed Lord and the young rich man is an interesting one. There are deep spiritual truths we can learn from their dialogue for our own good. Let us look at the passage itself. Matthew 19: 16-23 Now behold, one came and said to Him, "Good Teacher, what good thing shall I do that I may have eternal life?" So He said to him, "Why do you call Me good? No one is good but One, that is, God. But if you want to enter into life, keep the commandments." He said to Him, "Which ones?" Jesus said, "'You shall not murder,' 'You shall not commit adultery,' 'You shall not steal,' 'You shall not bear false witness,'. 'Honor your father and your mother,' and, 'You shall love your neighbor as yourself.' "The young man said to Him, "All these things I have kept from my youth. What do I still lack?" Jesus said to him, "If you want to be perfect, go, sell w...
