How do I become a Child of God?

I must confess that this is an important question for anyone seeking to be a child of God. To be a child of God is the greatest blessing ever. After God has reckoned you as his child, he blesses you with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus. It is a great privilege for anyone to be part of the family of God, to be part of his children whom he has purchased with his own blood. Is every single person on earth a Child of God? Many people are of the view that every single person on earth is by default a child of God. But is this asseveration true?  Is every person on earth irrespective of their spiritual standing a child of the most high without discrimination? Many of the people out there are self deceived, they think they are children of God, but in truth they are not. We are all God's handiwork, but not all of us are God's children. Someone might ask, then how can I be a child of God? What must I do to become a Child of the most high? Faith in Christ J...

Does God really answer our prayers?

It's quite unfortunate that many people out there feels that God does not answer our prayer requests. But such preposterous belief is to the extreme and I don't subscribe to such absurd assertion. Does God hears us and answers our prayer requests? The answer to this question is yes, he is a prayer answering God. Scriptural command to pray God's word is filled with exhortations for Christians to pray. Apostle Paul in his epistle to the church at thessalonica, he wrote : pray without ceasing (1 Thessalonians 5: 17) . Here we are being told to pray regularly, to pray consistently. In the book of Romans, it is written : Rejoicing in hope, persevering in tribulation, devoted to prayer (Romans 12; 12) . Here the inspired apostle encourages us to continue in this important spiritual exercise which is prayer. In the gospel of Luke, it is also written : Now He was telling them a parable to show that at all times they ought to pray and not to lose heart (Luke 18; 1) . Here the au...

What is the Romans road to salvation?

Beloved in Christ, the Romans road to salvation is a simple and concise way of communicating the truth of the gospel using verses from the new testament book of Romans. The gospel is clearly taught in the epistle to the Romans. The reason why we need salvation, the sacrifice of Christ, and how we can receive salvation, and it's benefits are encapsulated in the book of Romans. Let us look into detail some of the verses about the Romans road to salvation  Why we need salvation  Romans 3: 23 For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God This text highlights the fact that the entire human race have sinned against God. Both Jews and gentiles are equally guilty before God, with no exception, see (Romans 1; 18-32, 2: 2-29, 3: 1- 23) Romans 5: 12 Therefore, just as through one man sin entered into the world, and death through sin, and so death spread to all men, because all sinned We are told that through the disobedience of one Man, sin and it's dire consequences which inclu...

Who raised Jesus from the dead?

The truth about the resurrection of Christ is at the very heart of the gospel. Christianity itself is built on the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead. Any so called gospel which is destitute of the resurrection of Christ is not the gospel. The gospel is not only about the incarnation and death of Christ, no, but also includes his resurrection from the dead.  Apostle Paul defined the gospel in his letter to the Corinthians by saying : For I delivered to you as of first importance what I also received, that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, and that He was buried, and that He was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures (1 Corinthians 15; 3-4). It is quite unfortunate, that many people out there still deny the resurrection of Christ. But of a truth, Jesus Christ rose from the dead and there are myriads of passages which supports this assertion. So the question is, if Jesus truly rose from the dead, then who resurrected him? This is an interesti...

If a Christian dies with an unconfessed sin, is he or she still saved?

Of a truth, many people out there often ask this question, because they really want to know the truth. But woe unto me if I use my own mind to give you an answer to this question, rather than relying solely on the scriptures. The answer to this question can only be found in the holy writ. Some people are of the view that when a Christian dies with an unconfessed sin, he or she loses his salvation. Other people also says, no, if a Christian dies with an unconfessed sin that does not in any way negate his salvation. The question is which viewpoint is right? To find out the answer, I beseech thee to carefully read through this exposition.  Unconfessed sins are forgiven  It is important to know, that the sins of our entire lives, our past, present and future sins are forgiven. When Jesus was crucified on the cross, he died and redeemed us from all our sins. The bible says: When you were dead in your transgressions and the uncircumcision of your flesh, He made you alive together wi...

What is the purpose of the church?

Beloved in Christ, the biblical meaning of church is an assembly of believers. The Greek word, "Ekklesia" means, ''the called out ones or a Christian community''. Christians are the very people God has chosen and called them out unto himself. The church constitute Christ hand, his eyes, his mouth, his legs, etc. We are the body of Christ and individual members of it, see (1 Corinthians 12; 27). The Church in it's most basic meaning refers to the very people who have trusted in Christ for salvation, they are the people who are saved by grace through faith in Christ Jesus (Ephesians 2; 8-9). To delve deeper, I recommend you read my article on, What is the Church? and What does it mean that the church is the body of Christ? Let us look at the purpose of the Church or why does the Church exist? In the book of Acts, it is written : They were continually devoting themselves to the apostles' teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer ...

Why is prayer important?

We believe prayer plays an indispensable role in our lives. As born again Christian's, we cannot live without communicating with our father in heaven. If you claim to be a Christian and yet devoid of a prayer life, then I question your supposed faith in Christ? Prayerlessness is not a trait of a true follower of our Lord Jesus Christ. If Jesus who was God manifested in the flesh, thought it worth while to pray during his earthly ministry, then it behooves us to do likewise. But the question is, why should we pray? or Why is prayer important? Let us look at some of the reasons why prayer is very important.  I beseech you by the mercies of God to carefully read through this article for your spiritual edification. Prayer is important, because it is a way of serving God. The bible says: And there was a prophetess, Anna the daughter of Phanuel, of the tribe of Asher. She was advanced in years and had lived with her husband seven years after her marriage, and then as a widow to the age ...

What is prayer?

Beloved in Christ, an excellent author defined prayer thus, "Prayer is a form of communication with the divine, whether it be God, a deity, or a transcendent power". In Christianity, prayer is the primary means we talk to God. Prayer enables us to pour out our thoughts, our emotions, our pains and the way we feel in general before our God. God is our father and he is sovereign, he knows our deepest desires and yet still entreats us to come before him in prayer. Every parent loves it when their little children speaks to them, and presents their petitions before them. In like manner, since we are in an eternal relationship with God, he loves it when we relate with him as our father, he loves it when we can come before him and actually speak to him about everything. Exhortations to Pray Prayer can be done in private, whether audibly or in silence or in a public settings. What matters is that the individual communicates with God from the depth of his or her heart.  The exhortatio...
