Did Jesus ever claim to be God?

Many people reads the four gospels which gives us a vivid and a detailed account of the life and ministry of Jesus, and yet conclude that our blessed Lord did not make bold claims to be God. Is it true that Jesus Christ did not make claims to be God? The only way I will answer your question is simply by referring you to what Jesus said about himself. Jesus own words about himself, as recorded in the gospels will reveal his true identity to us, as to whether he was just an ordinary Man or God incarnate. It is written in the book of Luke: The scribes and the Pharisees began to reason, saying, "Who is this man who speaks blasphemies? Who can forgive sins, but God alone?" But Jesus, aware of their reasonings, answered and said to them, "Why are you reasoning in your hearts? Which is easier, to say, 'Your sins have been forgiven you,' or to say, 'Get up and walk'? But, so that you may know that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins,"-He sa...

Is Jesus Christ God?

The above question has been a subject of debate for centuries, and is still been debated up until now. Many people believe that Jesus Christ is not God and they always employ their powers to vehemently argue against it. There are equally strong proponents who argues for the deity of Christ, for such people believe that Jesus Christ is God and that he possesses all the divine attributes that sets him apart as God. But is it true that Jesus Christ is God? The answer to this important theological question can only be answered based on what is written in the holy scriptures. Please take your time and carefully read through this article, and by the end of this article your query will be answered  Jesus own claims Did Jesus ever claim to be God? In the book of John it is written: Your father Abraham rejoiced to see My day, and he saw it and was glad." So the Jews said to Him, "You are not yet fifty years old, and have You seen Abraham?" Jesus said to them, "Truly, truly, ...

How does God truly see me in Christ?

It is quite unfortunate that many born again Christians do not see themselves the way God sees them. Some of our brethren, sees themselves as a failure, unlovable, useless, and others even think that God is angry with them for a transgression they committed in time past. But those mindset you have about yourself is not true, they do not define your true identity. Your true worth is the way God sees you in Christ. The way God sees you reveals your true identity and God only sees you in his Son Jesus Christ. To be in Christ reveals who you truly are in the sight of God.  This is the reason why it is imperative, and as a matter of necessity to give yourself continually to study God's word, because the way God sees you is conspicuously revealed in the holy scriptures without any ambiguity whatsoever. Therefore, it behooves us to study God's word more, so we can get to know who we truly are in Christ Jesus. There are countless passages which reveals how God sees you in Christ, but m...

If our sins are forgiven, then why not continue in sin?

As Christians, our past, present and future sins are completely forgiven, because Jesus Christ has already made sufficient payment for our sins. The fact that we are saved, and our sins are forgiven does not mean we can live anyhow we want. Many of our fellow Christian brethren, thinks that if our sins are forgiven, then it implies that we now have the liberty to lead a licentious lifestyle. But such thinking is erroneous and it stems from a wrong understanding of the eternal nature of our forgiveness in Christ Jesus. Cavilers will always cavil against what the bible really teaches respecting the blessedness of the forgiveness of our past, present and future sins. You are truly forgiven of all your sins The moment we trusted in Christ for salvation, all the benefits of the redemptive work of Christ, including perpetual forgiveness of our sins was deposited into our account. The precious blood of Christ has wiped away every debt we owe, for in Christ we have redemption through his blood...

Is it true that our past, present and future sins are forgiven?

The above question sounds as though it is a difficult question, but of a truth it is not, provided you are well abreast with what the bible teaches concerning it. The nature of God's forgiveness of our sins is mind boggling and as imperfect beings as we are, we find it hard to accept it. Is it true that our past, present and even future sins are forgiven? The answer to this question is that yes, all our sins are forgiven, past, present and future sins.  The day you came to saving faith in Christ, all your sins were forgiven. The perpetual forgiveness of all the sins of our entire lives is a wonderful gift we have received from our Lord and Savior for which we are eternally grateful. It baffles my mind that instead of some of our fellow brethren, to humble themselves and accept the fact that they are forgiven of their past, present and future sins, rather they tend to fight us who are strong proponents of eternal forgiveness. Truth is truth even though you might wrestle against it, ...

I just got saved, what should I do next?

My heart is filled with joy unspeakable, because you have come to the saving knowledge in the person of our Lord Jesus Christ. I rejoice over you this day and the angels in heaven also rejoices over you, because of the gift of your eternal salvation, for it written: In the same way, I tell you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner who repents (Luke 15; 10).  If the angels who are not even recipients of salvation rejoices on account of your salvation, then I encourage you to treasure this gratuitous gift of grace. Beloved, it is God's will for you to have an unwavering assurance of your salvation throughout your Christian journey. Do not suffer anyone to rob you of the joy of your salvation, for the Lord has saved you once and for all eternity and will never lose you. You are secure in his loving hands and nothing can pluck you away from him. Apostle John wrote this by the leading of the Spirit: These things I have written to you who believe in the name ...

Can I have an Assurance of my Salvation?

Many Christian's from all over around the world lacks assurance of their salvation. I have had dialogue with fellow brethren as to whether they are saved eternally or not. Their reply proves beyond reasonable doubt that they do not know for sure, whether God has saved them eternally unto himself or not. Many of them believe that certain sins can make them lose their salvation, whiles others believe God's word do not give promises of assurance of salvation, hence they lack assurance. It is interesting to know that some Christians also lacks assurance, because they have been taught to believe that having assurance of their salvation, can give them the license to lead a licentious lifestyle.  The reasons some doubt their salvation varies from each person. It is the devil's priority and as part of his stratagems to make you think that you cannot have an assurance of your salvation. I have heard and read testimonies of how certain Christian's who before lacked assurance, as ...

I have sinned badly. Will God ever forgive me?

There are some Christian's who are living with guilt, over certain sin(s) they committed in time past. They think that they have committed an unpardonable sin, a sin that God cannot forgive them for. But of a truth, sinless perfection is not possible for as long as we dwell in this earthly tabernacle. There is no where written, that after we become born again that we will cease to sin. No one is or will ever be sinless in this life, therefore, whatever sin you may have committed, do not be too hard on yourself. Out of ignorance of God's word, certain Christian's have unfortunately fallen into depression, some have even committed suicide, some are living in isolation from their loved ones, others are burden with guilt, simply because they feel God cannot forgive them, for whatever sin or sins they might have involved themselves in. Do not listen to the lies Satan's objective is to bring into your remembrance your past sins, he does that to keep you bound in sin. There ar...

Does God still love me?

I must confess that some of our Christian brethren are in a state of confusion, as to whether God still loves them or not. But I encourage you by the mercies of God not to doubt God's love for you, not even for a second. God is immutable in his nature and his love for us is equally immutable, it is not subject to change, it endures forever. Therefore, no matter what we are going through in this life, let us make it a point not to have a double mindset concerning the love of God towards us. The reason why certain brethren at a point begin to question God's love for them varies.  Some doubt God's love for them because of an unanswered prayer request. Some also because of the death of their loved one(s), and others because of the trials and persecutions they are going through for Christ sake. Others also doubt God's love for them because of a certain sin they committed in the past. They feel God is still angry with them, and that God can never forgive them of their sins. S...

Who is a Christian?

Unfortunately, many people do not have a biblical understanding of who a Christian is. Out of mere ignorance, many people think they are Christians, but in truth they are not. When you ask some of them what makes them Christians, they are likely to give you various reasons why they believe they are Christians. But when you examine their reasons in the light of the scriptures, you can easily discern and conclude that they are not Christians at all.  I write this with heaviness of heart that many who claim to be Christians and are not will be disappointed on that faithful day. Therefore, it is imperative that we heed to the instruction of apostle Paul to us, as he penned down these words: Test yourselves to see if you are in the faith; examine yourselves, or do you not recognize this about yourselves, that Jesus Christ is in you- unless indeed you fail the test? (2 Corinthians 13; 5). In order not for you to deceive yourself, it will be in your own interest to examine yourself with G...
